        1. The most transformative work for my practice in library systems tends to come from papers on existentialism, authenticity, and political-philosophical discussions of 'freedom' and 'power'. @preater/991291693059239937

I've been thinking about this and I think ideas from art are neglected in librarianship theory and praxis. I tend to read lots of papers on art (specifically film and occasionally music) and apply these ideas to my work and theorising in library systems where I can.

See, as examples, my piece comparing the political philosophies of Surrealist cinema and open-licensing undaimonia.wordpress.com/2018/04/12/systems-of-revolt/ or my piece comparing Bowie's artistry to approaches to management in LIS undaimonia.wordpress.com/2016/01/26/blackstar/

If I were to reach a bit further, I'd say that this lack of attention to art and art theory leads to gaps in our practice in librarianship re. new modes of artistic expression e.g. podcasts, video games, zines, etc.
