    @dwbell9 That's not quite accurate. 'Sex' and 'gender' refer to two entirely different traits. 'Sex' is biological and determines whether you are male, female, or intersex. 'Gender' is your identity and characteristics related to that: it determines if you are man, woman, or non-binary.

      @dwbell9 In a lot of people, their biological sex 'matches' their gender i.e. someone born female also identifies as a woman. These people are said to be cisgendered. In transgender individuals, their sex does not match their gender.
