So I think I'll just go see mother! in Peckham instead. As long as I get my fix of uncomfortable psychosexual drama, I'm happy.

mother! is ambitious and allegorical in a similar way to Bergman and Fellini. It's also completely unsuitable for a mainstream release.

It might be the highest budget arthouse film I've ever seen. It's most definitely not a thriller or a horror or any mainstream genre film.

The screening I was in was full of people who went to see Saw and instead got The Seventh Seal.
