As a long-suffering fan of Assassin's Creed, I'm not sure I wanted to see a new iteration much less one that undermines the canon.
-
The Assassins were an Islamic cult that emerged in the Middle East to oppose the machinations of the Christian cult, the Templars.
-
Except now they're not because they emerged in ancient Egypt somehow. Boo.
-
Then again, maybe I'm taking this all too seriously. H. refers to Assassin's Creed as "that game with all the running and jumping".
-
Anyway, the series peaked with the Ezio games set in Renaissance Italy (and Turkey). Maybe I should just pick up that remastered version.
