Enshittification has hit the humble @nationalrailenq app which used to be a functional little app that showed train times and saved your frequently checked stations. Now the "app" is just a shortcut to their website which looks worse, doesn't do as much, and is harder to use.

It's certainly cheaper for National Rail to maintain one website rather than a website and an app. And who cares about the experience of the end-user? Starmer's Britain.

Fortunately I use Android and so was able to uninstall the shitty website version and install the 9.6.5.2 version from an APK mirror. I'll use this until it breaks. apkmirror.com/apk/national-rail-enquiries/national-rail-enquiries/national-rail-enquiries-9-6-5-2-release/national-rail-enquiries-9-6-5-2-android-apk-download/
