  1. We watched THE GATHERING last night, a film that doesn't succeed in its ambition to be THE OMEN but that also isn't as bad as the Letterboxd reviews make it seem. Yes, it's slow but I didn't find it dull and the Christian mythology at the heart of it is pretty inventive.

      That said, the kills aren't THE OMEN-level interesting and the plot threads don't come together until way too late. Plus it's very distracting that Mackenzie Crook is one of the silent members of the titular Gathering. That's the man behind Detectorists!
