  1. Watched IMMACULATE's twin film, THE FIRST OMEN. It's got more going for it than you might expect but the scene that's a less good riff off Żuławski's POSSESSION is instructive: it's too interested in copying other film's homework than bringing the weird vibes that its twin did. @SimonXIX/1784296327800660036

      It also helps that IMMACULATE is a tight 89 minutes that uses its time wisely whereas THE FIRST OMEN feels a little flabby at 119 minutes. This kind of Catholic horror needs to be a short, sharp shock rather than a lengthy Mass.
