  1. I'm pleased to award the Most Deceptive Trailer of the Year Award to AMERICAN FICTION for a trailer which depicts the film as a broad satire on Blackness in the publishing industry when it's actually 60% intimate family drama.

      It's very good! Jeffrey Wright and Sterling K. Brown in particular are terrific in it but given the content of the film and its emphasis on depicting the range of Black experience, it's strange that the marketing focused exclusively on one aspect of the narrative.
