    1. Reading Tommaso Venturini's article on online conspiracy narratives and the link to oral cultures (doi.org/10.1177/02632764211070962). It's striking how much applies to contemporary UK politics where slogans are repeated like proverbs and ritualistic tongue-lashings like PMQs are central.

    Particularly since the Tories are fully embracing the kind of conspiracy narratives described in the paper which emerge from online cultures with different standards for 'evidence' and 'consistency'.
