Unclear to me why Dave persist with this prize that rewards one-liners and puns when the best comedy at the Fringe never fits into those categories. It's completely antithetical to how the Fringe actually nurtures alternative comedy. @guardian/1693873997304209905On Internet Archive

I saw one of the shows that was shortlisted for Dave's prize last year and not only was the line not the funniest part of the show, it didn't even work out of the context of an hour-long show.Permalink On Internet Archive
