  1. ~~Edinburgh Fringe 2023 review thread~~ Eulogy tickets.edfringe.com/whats-on/eulogy DARKFIELD's immersive theatre experiences never disappoint. A disorienting journey through a hotel in your own mind.

Tarot: Work in Progress tickets.edfringe.com/whats-on/tarot-work-in-progress Very funny absurdist sketch show with a good amount of self-awareness about the process of putting on a sketch show at the Fringe. Never the same show twice.

Laura Davis: Well Don't Just Stand There Dancing tickets.edfringe.com/whats-on/laura-davis-well-don-t-just-stand-there-dancing A smart and self-aware stand-up set about grief and comedy and what we need to do to make a better world without being at all preachy. Really very good.

~~Back at the Edinburgh Fringe~~ Kathleen Hughes: One of the Girls (WIP) tickets.edfringe.com/whats-on/kathleen-hughes-one-of-the-girls-wip Very funny stand-up about feminism and internalised misogyny. Enhanced (especially the jokes about sex) by the presence in the audience of her mam, her old teachers, and a wasp.

Mark Silcox: Women Only tickets.edfringe.com/whats-on/mark-silcox-women-only No-one is out here doing it like Dr. Silcox, one of the best alternative comedians in the UK today. A terrific (and trans-inclusive) show that to the untrained eye looks like a bizarre and rambling PowerPoint presentation.

Shelf: Teenage Men tickets.edfringe.com/whats-on/shelf-teenage-men A non-binary double-act with a tight set about performing for children, queerness, and outbutching your mum. Wonderfully confident performances and even some songs!

David Kay: 106% tickets.edfringe.com/whats-on/david-kay-106 Big fan of Kay's laconic delivery about banal and niche topics. A solid show though I think I prefer him in shorter, tighter bursts than a full hour.

Pierre Novellie: Why Are You Laughing? tickets.edfringe.com/whats-on/pierre-novellie-why-are-you-laughing I'd heard of Novellie as 'a comedian's comedian' and his set was my favourite of this year's Fringe so far. A pitch-perfect and super relatable set on Britain, fantasy novels, weird obsessions, and Asperger's.
