I watched MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE and MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE 2 and may have inadvertently set off on a watch of the whole series because I'm fascinated by how these films act as a barometer for Hollywood trends over the past thirty years. Viewed through this lens, it's pretty clear that MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – DEAD RECKONING PART ONE is (I would argue unsuccessfully) attempting to tap into the legacy sequel trend by bring back elements from the first film and exploring the origins of the main character.On Internet Archive
