If you haven't heard our latest podcast venture for @TAKEONECinema, this is a great time to start listening. We're critiquing all the Alien franchise films and today it's James Cameron's gamechanging ALIENS (1986) which set the franchise on a new path with... mixed results. @JimGR/1661279982620999682

Re. the anecdote at the end of today's podcast about Cameron's frustrations with his British crew at Pinewood Studios: I'd also refer you to @BeccaEHarrison's BFI Film Classics book on THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK for good context on these kinds of labour issues in film productions.

I say this because I also referred to David Chen's article on Keegan's book as a secondary source and he interestingly frames the British crew as taking part in a 'mutiny' rather than exercising basic workers' rights. slashfilm.com/506847/how-james-cameron-put-down-a-mutiny-on-the-set-of-aliens/
