            1. Starting my non-London #LFF at @glasgowfilm with Ruben Östlund's TRIANGLE OF SADNESS. High hopes for this: FORCE MAJEURE is one of my favourite films.

TRIANGLE OF SADNESS: Come for the vision of capitalism as an inescapable prison that we make for ourselves; stay for the raw scenes of rich people suffering. Loses steam and focus a bit in the final act but still a propulsive satire.

Second #LFF film: THE BANSHEES OF INISHERIN. A hilarious and heartbreaking fable reuniting Brendan Gleeson and Colin Farrell with IN BRUGES director Martin McDonagh (plus an incredible turn from Barry Keoghan). A terrific script with the textures of an Irish folk tale.

THE BANSHEES OF INISHERIN made me want to read The Third Policeman again which I think gives a pretty good indication of its feel.

Final #LFF film is this evening: #GlassOnion, the KNIVES OUT SEQUEL.

GLASS ONION: A KNIVES OUT MYSTERY: A slow first half ramps up and lays the necessary groundwork for an excellent second half. Another satisfying murder mystery that subverts and recontextualises the tropes of the genre.

That thing that was "revealed" at the #LFF press conference this morning is also directly in the text.
