The Moon Pact Trial: freefringe.org.uk/shows/the-moon-pact-trial/ A spooky psychosexual one-man show about first dates, sexual fetishes, and cults. Good Obi-Wan Kenobi impression.

This Is Your Captain Speaking: tickets.edfringe.com/whats-on/this-is-your-captain-speaking A comedy drama about life, loss, and geese. Like Waiting for Godot but in an airport on a goose-infested island.

Josie Long: Re-Enchantment: tickets.edfringe.com/whats-on/josie-long-re-enchantment We missed her previews for this in Glasgow but a terrific show about political frustration and finding radical hope. Very relatable bits about moving to Glasgow after 2019 because England is going to shit.

Ali Brice: I Tried To Be Funny But You Weren't Looking: tickets.edfringe.com/whats-on/ali-brice-i-tried-to-be-funny-but-you-weren-t-looking "Without the mundane, you can't experience the extraordinary." A really charming and hilarious show about mental health and sausages. Ali is amazing at crowd work too.

Micky Overman: Small Deaths: tickets.edfringe.com/whats-on/micky-overman-small-deaths Really funny show about existing as a woman. The Hive is perhaps the mouldiest, grossest venue but Micky smashed it nonetheless.

Back in Edinburgh for the film festival but it'd be rude not to catch at least a couple of Fringe shows. Jake Donaldson: Neurotica tickets.edfringe.com/whats-on/jake-donaldson-neurotica Good wee stand-up set about anxiety, disability, and growing up with toxic masculinity. Plus some Derren Brown-esque magic!

Brodi Snook: Waylaid tickets.edfringe.com/whats-on/brodi-snook-waylaid Back in the Hive: The Stickiest Venue in Edinburgh™. A terrific and confidently written show about sex, returning to your hometown, and becoming a Best Newcomer just before the pandemic.

It's back! Simon's ~~Edinburgh Fringe review thread!~~ Joe Wells: I Am Autistic tickets.edfringe.com/whats-on/joe-wells-i-am-autistic Really hilarious stand-up show about being autistic and speculating on the challenges that non-autistic people must face.

Luke McQueen: Workout in Progress comedy.co.uk/fringe/2022/luke-mcqueen/ Still my favourite stand-up comedian. After every show of his we've seen, my face hurts from laughing. Just the most consistently inventive alternative comedian out there.

Will Duggan: Iceberg tickets.edfringe.com/whats-on/will-duggan-iceberg Hilarious and unexpectedly personal and moving show about lots of things but mostly anger and what we can do with it. Some tech issues that Will incorporated into the show terrifically. Highly recommended.

Séance tickets.edfringe.com/whats-on/seance An interactive audiovisual experience centred around a Victorian-style séance. I say 'visual' but one of the weirdest aspects was being in such complete darkness that it made no difference if you closed your eyes or not. Love spooky shit.

The Last Ride of the ~~Edinburgh Fringe review thread~~ Flight tickets.edfringe.com/whats-on/flight Bit of a gamble, this one, given my fear of flying but it didn't really engage me or, as I think I secretly wanted, scare me. Not as effective as Séance.

Ruth Hunter and the Ruth-hunter tickets.edfringe.com/whats-on/ruth-hunter-and-the-ruth-hunter Spooky absurdist stand-up with Welcome to Night Vale vibes. Ghosts and demons haunting Glasgow tenements. Weird Saturday audience.

Patti Harrison tickets.edfringe.com/whats-on/patti-harrison Just a wild show. Completely unpredictable. Incredible alternative comedy and a real highlight of this year's Fringe. What a last show to see.
