To say that Nedry was the failure point of Jurassic Park is to misunderstand the film (and the novel). If it wasn't Nedry, it would have been the tropical storm; if it wasn't the tropical storm, it would have been the unanticipated breeding; if it wasn't etc etc. @mattyglesias/1537016443447160832

The point is that completely controlling a complex natural ecosystem will never be possible because of the exponential complexities predicted by—and this is explicit in the novel and the film—chaos theory. Nedry didn't bring down Jurassic Park: nature brought down Jurassic Park.

Given that we're seeing largescale climate change partially because of fuel-heavy enterprises like air travel, I would actually say that, yes, air travel has turned out to be a misguided enterprise.
