      1. First international birding! Highlights were a Short-toed Treecreeper (doesn't really appear in the UK), this Barnacle Goose, and some Indian Peafowl including this resplendent and very rare albino! ebird.org/checklist/S110938364

      We're not in France for birding but I would have been secretly disappointed to have not seen at least one species I couldn't see in the UK.

    (FYI, I've referred to the Indian Peafowl above as 'albino' even though it's extremely unlikely to actually be albinism and is more likely a leucistic mutation and may have been caused by selective breeding.)
