I think there's a lot of people who think that having and acknowledging feelings is ""woke"". As if emotional engagement itself is part of a progressive agenda.
So they view a film about a young teenager discovering and acknowledging her emotions as part of some ""woke"" Hollywood liberal agenda because they're so used to their own emotional constipation.
