The washing machine had an issue that took some time to fix so I missed my THE MATRIX RESURRECTIONS screening. Straight into THE MATRIX RELOADED instead and I'm reminded that /this/ is where the franchise became very self-serious. @SimonXIX/1474343880913002517

I like THE MATRIX RELOADED and it's subversion of the first film's monomyth but, my goodness, these Zion scenes are interminable. I'd rather enter Zuckerberg's metaverse than be at the extremely sweaty rave at the end of history.

It's a shame that Hugo Weaving is so good as Agent Smith that they felt compelled to bring him back as the main villain for the sequels. It's the big narrative misstep of these films and also the thing that feels most sequel-y.

Remember how The Matrix sequels led to hundreds of Flash animations of stick figures doing move-perfect kung fu fights? Every other thing on Newgrounds was a stick figure doing Matrix kung fu. What a time to be alive.
