ARMY OF THE DEAD is big dumb fun but it's also emotionally anchored by Bautista giving an incredible performance. Without him it would be a lesser film and it's more evidence for how the MCU did Drax dirty.Permalink On Internet Archive

Drax deserved to kill Thanos. At some point after GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY, Marvel forgot that Drax had an arc and a personality and turned him into a moronic comic relief character. Bautista deserved more.Permalink On Internet Archive

Back to ARMY OF THE DEAD: as a zombie / heist movie genre mashup, it's designed to be at least a little self-referential but it's a shame that some of its best plot beats and even lines are straight-up taken from other better action films.
