We're staying at an isolated hotel in the Peak District this week and I'm afraid to look too closely at this photo in the lobby in case I see myself in it.
Walking one of Britain's ghost roads: the ruins of the old A625 which used to be the main route from Stockport to Sheffield. Collapsed in a landslide from Mam Tor and abandoned in the '70s.
It's not a holiday unless I accidentally drive down a very narrow, very steep stretch of road but this one we drove up and down earlier is more spooky than usual.
