    The UK Government declared a state of lockdown on the 23rd March 2020. I'd been in self-imposed lockdown for a week prior to that: I never went back to the office after the UCU strikes ended on 13th March 2020. It was obvious at the time that there was a global health crisis.

      You might remember that week as the week when all the supermarket shelves were apocalyptically empty. That's because people were independently preparing for lockdown because it was obvious that it was necessary /before/ the Govt. mandated it.
