THE PERSONAL HISTORY OF DAVID COPPERFIELD: just a really charming film. I loved watching it and being with these characters. For a Dickens adaptation, it's all so pleasant and non-grimy. youtube.com/watch?v=xXh53I-Sdsk

My only issues with the film were issues with Charles Dickens: too many subplots, too many coincidences. Plus, Charles, it really plays out like you're making it all up as you go along.

Plus it has the best unexpectedly goth Gwendoline Christie since IN FABRIC.
