        1. Seeing all the news and new projects coming out of D23, I can't help but feel that Disney is over-reaching itself with a slew of ambitious projects (mostly TV series) to compensate for entering a fallow period for its big properties.

Both their big Marvel and Star Wars franchises are ending monolithic (and market-dominating) arcs this year; their live-action / photorealistic CGI remakes have done the big titles; Disney's theme parks have underperformed this year and there's some ongoing drama there.

Sony have taken advantage of this upcoming fallow period (and the kudos off their Oscar-winning Spider-Man film last year) to push back against the bad Spider-Man deal imposed by Disney.

Overall, all this D23 news seems like an attempt to reinflate a bubble that has visibly started to shrink. But between the dozens of TV shows and the ongoing slate of films, it seems like too much. The Disney bubble might be about to burst.

(By which I mean not that Disney will go bust but that Disney is about to stop enjoying the same level of critical and commercial success it's hard over the last decade)

But then again they've made a Star Wars TV series with Werner Herzog and Carl Weathers in it so maybe they're still crushing it? Who knows ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ youtu.be/aOC8E8z_ifw
