I'm off sick so I'm watching Mission: Impossible - Fallout (2018), a film with a three-word title which improbably contains both a colon and a hyphen.

It is wild nonsense where strapping men earnestly say lines like "I know you don't like my methods..." and where the production office's answer to any narrative concerns seems to have been 'Who cares?'.
-
Why are they doing a HALO jump to get to Paris, France, rather than literally any other way of getting to Paris? Who cares?

I guess something bad happened to Tom Cruise's character's wife in a previous film (killed?). But in his dreams she looks just like the other conventionally attractive brown-haired white woman in the film and I get confused that he doesn't care that his wife is alive again.

Wow, Lolly Adefope is in this?! She really is in everything at the moment!

It seems really unlikely that you could get on a helicopter from the top of the Tate Modern. It's also not the most discreet place for a spy to get on a helicopter, is it? It's a major tourist destination.

Whoops. Turns out the wife isn't dead after all and that fact is important to the plot @SimonXIX/1135524839597531136

There's a lot to not like about Tom Cruise but it really is noticeable when he does his own stunts and it does make a difference. He really seems to love playing this relatively bland character and has an admirable commitment.
