We used one big spreadsheet to plan everything in: budget, venue, activities, food & drink, schedule, rings, people, invitations, music, clothing, everything. But the first sheet was 'Ground rules' where we kept the most important things we had to remember when planning.Permalink On Internet Archive

In lieu of getting schedules, menus, and other info printed professionally, we made a zine with all the important information and gave a copy to every guest. Hels did all the artistic work for those.Permalink On Internet Archive

To keep guests from being peckish throughout a long day, we had a table of 'pub snacks' (incl. vegan snacks) for people to graze on throughout the day. At great expense, we had Republic Taytos shipped over because we <3 them.Permalink On Internet Archive

The venue offered us an 'espresso hour' for later in the evening where the bar would serve espresso martinis. This turned out to be a great idea as they gave everyone a bit more energy to keep the party going.Permalink On Internet Archive

All the 'professional wedding DJs' we looked at were crappy middle-aged white men who would have played the YMCA. So we asked some great DJs who ran a club night that Hels liked and had never done a wedding before. They were amazing.Permalink On Internet Archive

We're both aware of how anxiety-inducing social events can be for people so we set up a chill-out space in the venue with plenty of activities like some of our games from home and a ping-pong table (we played ping-pong on our first date).Permalink On Internet Archive

Along with the group photos, we took the time to get a photo of everyone at the wedding. We almost didn't because of the logistics and stress of rounding everyone up but I'm so glad we did because I love it.Permalink On Internet Archive
